About Urine Culture & Sensitivity Test
A Urine Culture test is performed to diagnose a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and identify the specific bacteria or yeast causing it. The sample is incubated to grow the pathogen, followed by an antibiotic sensitivity check to guide targeted clinical treatment.

Test Preparation & Instructions
Fasting & Dietary Rules: Midstream urine sample required. Must be collected in the sterile cup provided. Do not start antibiotics before giving sample.
Medication advice: If you are taking any regular medication, please check with your doctor whether to take it before the sample extraction. Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking 24 hours prior to the test.
Hydration: Drink normal amounts of water before the test. Staying hydrated helps the phlebotomist locate veins easily, ensuring a painless draw.
